France to assist in installing lightning prevention devices

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief  Md Mohibbur Rahman has said that France will provide assistance in setting up lightning protection devices, constructing  infrastructure and providing training in addition to exchanging technical knowledge on it in Bangladesh.

He told this while talking to reporters after a meeting with France Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy  at the secretariat in the capital on Monday.

The state minister said effective measures will be taken to install lightning prevention devices besides the campaign on raising awareness among people over lightning.
 
The state minister has expressed his concern over the recent rising fatalities from lightning strikes and said the government is working to reduce the number of fatalities and losses caused by lightning strikes.
