A
Bangladeshi national was sustained bullet injuries reportedly after Indian Border Security Force (
BSF)
shot him along Putkhali border area in
Jashore's
Benapole on Monday morning.
The injured Amjad Ali, 32, of Krishnapur village in the upazila, was shot by BSF personnel at Zero Point border area.
Later, he was brought back to Bangladesh by his companions.
According to the victim brother Amer Ali, his brother went to India to bring cattle through the Putkhali border on Sunday night. On his way back home with the cattle in the morning, BSF personnel from the Kaliyani camp opened fire.
Amjad Ali was shot in his left leg. He was rushed to Jashore General Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment there, he added.
Lt Col Khurshid Alam, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (
BGB)-21 Battalion, said they are looking into the matter and legal action wull be taken after investigation.
