SSC examinee drown in Jamalpur pond

A school student, who recently got GPA-5 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, drowned while bathing in a pond at Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur district on Wednesday.

The deceased was Rifat Mia, 16, son of Abdul Halim Sarkar, hailed from Digharpar area under Sherpur Sadar upazila. He passed SSC examination from Sherpur Victoria School and College recently.
According to the deceased family members, Rifat went to his brother's house at Bakshiganj two days earlier. He along with four friends went down to the pond take bath in the afternoon and drowned there.

Confirming the matter, Bakshiganj Fire Service Station official Mohammad Tuhinul Haque said being informed, they recovered the body after two hours of attempt.
