Unilever subsidiary UCCL announces 300pc cash dividend

Unilever Consumer Care Limited (UCCL) announced a final cash dividend of 300% on the paid-up capital of the company, i.e., BDT 30.00 per ordinary share of BDT 10.00 each for the year ended December 31, 2023.

Unilever Consumer Care Limited, a subsidiary of Unilever Bangladesh Limited announced the dividend at its 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Tuesday last.

At the AGM conducted through digital platform, the shareholders approved the directors report, auditors report, and audited financial statements for the calendar year.

The meeting was presided over by the companys chairman Masud Khan and the Companys other directors, namely Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, Ms. Zinnia Tanzina Huq, S.O.M. Rashedul Quayum, Md. Abul Hossain, and Reazul Haque Chowdhury, and Company Secretary, Md. Naharul Islam Molla, along with the companys Statutory Auditors, Independent Scrutinizer, and a good number of shareholders, participated virtually.

Masud Khan stated: "In 2023, as a global business, our company encountered significant challenges stemming from geo-political crises, leading to a decline in gross profit.

However, despite these adverse circumstances, we demonstrated resilience by increasing our net profit margin by 6.5% in 2023 compared to 2022.

Despite the limitations imposed by external factors, the companys final cash dividend for 2023 is 300% upon the approval of our shareholders in the 51st AGM.

"Over the recent decades, Bangladesh has made significant progress in addressing micronutrient deficiencies and promoting healthy nutrition for mothers and children.

Through Horlicks, our flagship nutritional brand, we are committed to supporting the governments goal of eradicating malnutrition by the year 2030 and achieving healthcare objectives outlined in Vision 2041.

We aim to empower individuals making informed health decisions, contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future for all," he added.
