BARISHAL, May 16: Girl examinees have outpassed boy examinees in the SSC exams-2024 under the Barishal Education Board (BEB).
Girls have secured 91.86 per cent pass rate while boys secured 86.02 per cent.
According to the BEB sources, this higher pass rate of girls has been registered for the fourth time.
In Science Group, girls pass rate is 96.48 while boys pass rate is 94.64. In Humanity Group, girls pass rate is 89.50 per cent while boys pass rate is 80.89. In Business Studies Group, girls pass rate is 94.79 per cent while boys pass rate is 87.67.
A total of 3,515 girl examinees have got GPA-5 while boy ones have got 2,630.
According to the BEB sources, a total of 88,845 examinees from 1,489 schools in six districts took part in the SSC exams. The exam was held through 196 centres, attended by 87,734 examinees; of them 78,197 ones have passed.
A total of 51 examinees were expelled; boys were double of the girls.
Board Exam Controller Arun Kumar Gayne said, compared to last years, the decrease of examinees is not much higher this year than that of the last year. But this years quality of results has improved, he added.
He further said, "This year three students appeared in the SSC exams sitting in Barishal Central Jail; so far, we know, they have also passed."
