Heatwave likely to continue for two more days

Mild and moderate heatwave has been sweeping across the country since Monday. It may continue for two more days, the Met Office forecast on Thursday.

The Met Office forecast that increase in moisture incursion will cause discomfort.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Met Office issued a heatwave warning, predicting that heatwave in five divisions including Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal may continue for 48 more hours until 6:00pm on Friday.

Weatherman Omar Farooq told journalists that heatwave will not be as intense as it was in April.

But discomfort will prevail due to excessive water vapour. Apart from Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, the temperature may drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in other parts of the country from Saturday, Omar Faruk predicted.

According to the Met Office, mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping across Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and it may continue.
