Rohingya man held arm, ammo in Ukhiya

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a Rohingya with arms and ammunitionfrom Shiler Chara in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night.

RAB-15 Battalion Commander Lt Col HM Sazzad Hossain said based on secrate information, the elite force conducted a raid in the area on Thursday evening.

Sensing their presence, the two to three people tried to flee but RAB men detained Md Selim, 30, son of Late Nur Ahammad of Camp-4, Block G-5 in Kutupalang of the upazila.
The RAB official said that they also recovered a locally-made arm and five rounds of bullets from Selim’s possession.

Selim is an active member of a Rohingya camp based criminal group and he is involve in extortion, kidnapping and robbery.

Commander Lt Col Sazzad said a case has been filed with the Ukhiya Police Station in this connection.
