Two youths were killed and another injured in a collision between a motorbike and an autorikcshaw at Sreebardi upazila in
Sherpur district on Friday afternoon.
The
accident occurred 1pm on the Sreebardi-Sherpur road at Bharera area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Hridoy, 19, son of Jahangir Alam, and Foysal Mia, 17, son of Tara Mia, both were residents of Kurikahania village under the upazila.
According to witnesses, Hridoy and Foysal were going to a mosque at nearby Jamalpur's Bakshiganj upazila to perform Jummah Prayer riding on a motorcycle. On the way, they collided head-on with a batter-operated autorickshaw, leaving them critically injured.
Locals rescued them and took to Sherpur Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Confirming the matter, Sreebardi Police Station officer-in-charge Kaiyum Khan Siddique said legal actions will be taken in this regard.
