Two brothers killed in Tangail lightning strike

Two paddy harvesting workers were killed and four others injured after being struck by lightning strike at Kalihati upazila in Tangail district on Saturday morning.

The incident took place around 9am at Nuabari village under Birbashinda union of the upazila.
The deceased were Afzal Hossain, and his cousin Md Amir Hossain, both were hailed from Dinajpur's Pirganj upazila.

According to witnesses, a streak of thunderbolt struck the duo when they along with others were working in a paddy field, leaving them dead on the spot and four others critically injured.

Sohrab Hossain, chairman of Birbashinda Union Parishad, confirmed the information and said that the injured were rescued and taken to Kalihati Upazila Health Complex where they were recieving treatment.
