20 hurt as two groups clash in Jhenaidah

At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups in a village at Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah district over establishing supremacy.

The incident happened at Bhaturia village on Saturday morning.
Police and locals said followers of UP member Korban Ali and former member Moshiur Rahman were locked in a clash with lethal weapons over establishing supremacy in the village, leaving at least 20 injured.

They were later taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Harinakundu Police Station officer-in-charge Ziaur Rahman.

He said they arrested five people in connection to the clash.
