Voter dies at Rajbari polling centre

An elderly man died of a stroke while he was waiting to cast his vote at a polling centre of Baliakandi upazila in Rajbari district on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place around 10am at Boroi Chara Government Primary School polling centre under the upazila.

Deceased Yusuf Mondal, 62, was a resident of Chardakshinbari village under Nababpur union in the upazila. 
Khalilur Rahman, cousin of Yusuf Mondal, said, "We went to the polling center by van to cast our votes at around 10:00 am. Yusuf was behind me when we entered the polling booth. After casting my vote, I saw that he was feeling sick. We took him to a nearby hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead."

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdur Rahman, in-charge of the polling center, confirmed the death matter.
