Two-day poetry festival to begin on Thursday in Noakhali

A two-day poetry festival is starting in Noakhali on Thursday with the slogan of 'Kobitar jagaron Upakule amaron'.

National level invited poets, poets from Greater Noakhali in Dhaka and poets from the district, Feni, Laxmipur and India will participate in the festival to be held at the District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium.
On the occasion of the festival, a press conference was organized at Moumachhi Kachi Kachar Mela Bhaban in the town on Wednesday morning.

Noakhali Kobita Utsab Utzapan Parishad Convener Poet Badrul Haidar, Joint Convener Poet Mintu Sareng, Poet Pratyay Jasim, and Noakhali district coordinator of the festival Jamal Hossain Bishad spoke at the conference.

The festival will be officially inaugurated on Thursday at 3 pm with a procession, national anthem and regional songs of Noakhali. Poem Kamal Chowdhury, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Education and Culture, has been invited as the chief guest at the festival.

Freedom fighter Farida Khanam MP will be present as a special guest. Noakhali Science and Technology University Vice-Chancellor Professor Didar Ul Alam will preside the fest. The second day of the festival includes seminars, poetry recitations and cultural programs.
