LALMONIRHAT, May 22: Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan on Wednesday said the right to law and justice is the fundamental and constitutional right of every person. Getting a speedy and fair trial is also a constitutional right of people. Judiciary of the country is working to ensure it keeping that in mind.
While inaugurating a restroom called Nyaya Kunja for people seeking legal assistance at the Lalmonirhat Judge Court premises on Wednesday, the Chief Justice made the remark.
Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said the legal profession is a noble profession. This profession should be used for the welfare of the country. Special attention should be given to settle the cases in a speedy time. Lawyers have a role to play in reducing the cases.
For this, common people should be informed by legal advice.
In response to a question about the initiatives taken to reduce the tangle of cases, the Chief Justice said people now file cases in trivial cases. It is possible to reduce the entanglement of cases and the length of cases by making people aware and resolving small incidents.
High Court Justice Iqbal Kabir spoke as special guest on the occasion while Appellate Division Registrar Saifur Rahman, and High Court Registrar Tofail Ahmed were present.
