NATORE, May 23: Members of Rapid Action Battalian (RAB) in the district camp arrested a couple with counterfeit notes.
In a drive on Tuesday night, the RAB team arrested them from Dharail Bazar in Sadar Upazila.
This information was confirmed in a press release of the RAB Camp office on Wednesday.
The arrested are Md Ripon, son of Shahidul Islam and his wife Laboni Akhter Rimu, resident of Ranshipara Village of Baghmara Upazila in Rajshahi.
On detective information, the drive was conducted at Dharail Bazar of Dighapotia Union in Sadar Upazila; during this time, Ripon and his wife Laboni were arrested with 13 pieces of one thousand taka counterfeit notes and 24 pieces of five hundred taka ones.
The RAB team collected the notes from an organised forgery circle; the circle is used to supply the fake currency notes to different places of the country.
They were handed over to police after filing a case with Sadar Police Station.
