SI injured as minibus ploughs through police box in city

A minibus belonging to 'Shikar Paribahan' ploughed through a traffic police box at Matsya Bhaban area in the capital on Friday, leaving a sub-inspector injured.

The incident occurred around 11:00am, said Shahbagh police.
Shahbagh Police Station OC Mostafizur Rahman said the speeding minibus rammed into the police box due to reckless driving. The bus driver then fled the scene, leaving the vehicle.

He Md Rezwan, a sub-inspector of the Public Order Management of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), suffered injuries on his lips and was admitted to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital.

Police are trying to arrest the absconding minibus driver, he added.
