The land depression over Sylhet and surrounding areas is currently weakening and is expected to move northeastwards, gradually losing strength, according to BMD's special weather bulletin on Tuesday.

BMD has issued a warning about persistent steep pressure gradients over the north Bay, which may result in continued squally weather affecting maritime ports, the north Bay, and adjacent coastal areas.

As a precautionary measure, local cautionary signal number three has been issued for the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra, it said.

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the north Bay have been advised to stay close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice, the bulletin added.
