Man killed in gas cylinder blast in Dhaka's Badda

A young man was killed after a gas cylinder exploded at a building in the capital's in Badda area on Thursday morning.

The explosion occurred on the ground floor of a three-storey building on DIT Road around 6:43am.

Another woman was also injured in the incident.

Deceased Solayman, 35, worked at a hotel.

Two fire fighting units from Baridhara Fire Station responded promptly to the incident and extinguished the fire.

Talha bin Jashim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell, said that the reason behind the fire could not be known yet.

Preliminary, they suspect that a gas cylinder leakage may have caused the blast.
