The government will not allow any cattle markets alongside the roads and highways ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha in order to prevent severe traffic jams and ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers.

Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives minister Md Tazul Islam told this at an inter-ministry meeting on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the Secretariat in the capital on Thursday.
The meeting was held with the aim of reviewing the overall preparation of cattle market management and waste management.

Actions will be taken by mobile courts if any cattle market disrupts normal traffic movement, he said adding that two city corporations are instructed to remove waste within 24 hours of Eid.
