Rain likely over parts of country

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over three divisions, at a few places over three other divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9 am Friday, BSS reports.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal to the Northwest Bay across southwestern part of Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Chattogram, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions including eastern part of Dhaka division.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.0 degree Celsius at Jashore district and today's minimum temperature 22.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Saidpur in Nilphamari district.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 122 millimeters (mm) at Srimangal.

The sun sets at 06.42 pm Friday and rises at 05.11 am Saturday in the capital.
