Kenya storms into the semifinals

The two-time runner-up Kenya stormed into the semifinals of the fourth edition of the Bangabandhu Cup 2024 International Kabaddi Tournament winning a very close match against powerful Thailand by 33-32 points with a lona on Friday.

Kenya led the first half by 20-16.

It was the most exciting match of the tournament till the day. The Kabaddi fans cheered for their favourite teams throughout the match as their chants echoed from corner to corner at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.

Kenya raider Samuel Wanjala Wafula who scored 12 alone won the Man of the Match.

Winning four matches in a row, Kenya had eight points. Thailand who won the last three matches had three points in collection.
 
Earlier on Thursday, Bangladesh and Nepal from Group-A reached the semifinals. After Kenya became the first to confirm semis from Group-B, the group will be waiting to get the last team to qualify for the last four.
