10,000 meters of nets seized in Kaptai Lake

RANGAMATI, May 31: Fisheries Department seized and destroyed 10,000 meters of current and thread nets in the Kaptai Lake in the district during fishing ban period.

Under the initiative of Rangamati Sadar Upazila Fisheries Office, a drive was conducted in the Kaptai Lake in different areas of Gunabhanga and Jeetali under Sadar Upazila of the district lead by Rangamati District Fisheries Officer Adhir Chandra Das.
During the operation, 10,000 meters of current and thread nets illegally kept in the Kaptai Lake for fishing were seized and destroyed.

At that time, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Sheikh Ershad Bin Shahid, Mithun Dewan of Sadar Upazila Fisheries Division and members of Naval Police along with BFDC officials were also present.
