Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the police will not take the responsibility for the former inspector general of police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed if he commits a personal crime.

"It is his personal matter if he (Benazir Ahmed) did any corruption. Police will not take the responsibility. It will be cleared after investigation," the minister said these at a programme held at Dhaka University's TSC auditorium on Saturday.

Mentioning about ban on Benazir Ahmed, he said, "Benazir left the country before ban that I heard. Though I didn't sure about this."
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal further said, "If someone has done wrong, he will be brought to justice as per the law. If former IGP Benazir Ahmed is corrupt, it is his personal matter. The police will not take responsibility for this. What he did, will be known only after the investigation."
