JAMALPUR, June 1: A day-long Regional Supervision and Review Workshop was held in the district on Thursday.
The workshop was arranged in the training room of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) in the district.
It was held under Diversified Resilient Agriculture for Improved Food and Nutrition Security (RAIN), a sub-project of Smallholders Agriculture Competitiveness Project (SACP).
The speakers at the workshop said, under the project, farmers teams are being formed with the landless and marginal farmers to make them ideal farmers by providing skilled development training and various incentives.
Additional Director (In-charge) of the DAE-Mymensingh Region Salma Akhtar was present at the workshop as the chief guest while Project Director of SCAP-RAINS Dr Muhammad Emdadul Haque was present as special guest. Deputy Director (DD) of the DAE Zakia Sultana presided over the workshop.
Among others, Chief Scientific Officer of the Regional Agriculture Research Institute Dr Manjurul Kadir and District Fisheries Officer SM Khalekuzzaman spoke at the workshop.
