15 lakh children fed Vitamin-A capsules in five districts

A total of 14,90,721 children aged from 6 to 59 months were fed Vitamin-A capsules in four districts- Bogura, Gopalganj, Kishoreganj, Narayanganj, and Rangamati, on June 1 on the occasion of National Vitamin-A+ Campaign.  
BOGURA: Two types of capsules, red and blue, were fed to total 5, 12,688 children of 6-11 months and 12-59 months aged in the district on Saturday (June 1).
The capsule feeding was made through 2,867 centres.
It was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Saiful Islam at Polashbari Clinic in Sadar Upazila.
Among others, Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Mohammad Shafiul Azam, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Firoza Parvin, Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr Shamir Hossain Mishu were present at the opening function.
A total of 61,921 children of 6-11 months aged were fed Blue capsules while 4, 50,767 children of 12-59 months aged were fed Red capsules.
GOPALGANJ: Acting DC and Additional DC (Revenue) Farhana Jahan Upama and CS Dr Mohammad Zillur Rahman jointly inaugurated the capsule feeding in the district in the morning.
The capsule feeding function was opened in the district administration school.
Among others, District Livestock Services Officer Dr Gobinda Chandra Sardar, District EPI Superintendent Deepak Ranjan Sarkar, CS Office Medical Officer Dr Dibakar Biswas and other officials concerned were present at the opening function.
 About two lakh children of 6-59 months aged were fed the capsules.
Through 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital, five upazila health complexes, Pourasabha Health Complex, and 1,709 temporary booths, the feeding programme took place from 8am to 4pm.
KISHOREGANJ: The inaugural function was held in the conference room of Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital.
CS Dr Saiful Islam presided over the opening session while DC Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated it as the chief guest.
Through 2,774 centres, a total of 4, 96,717 children of 6-59 months aged were administered Vitamin-A capsules.
NARAYANGANJ: CS Dr Abul Fazal Muhammad Moshiur Rahman inaugurated the capsule feeding at Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning office vaccine centre in the morning as the chief guest.
The opening function was attended, among others, by Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Aneek Biswas, District Health Education Officer Asif Mahmud, CS Office Medical Officer Dr Shilpi Aktar, District EPI Superintendent Lutfor Rahman, District Health Supervisor Swapan Debnath, Upazila Medical Officer (Disease Control) Dr Mamtaj Begum, and Upazila Health Inspector Jharna Rani Das.      
In the district (Except Narayanganj City Corporation, NCC area), 41,178 children of 6-11 months aged were fed Blue capsules while 2, 90,301 children of 12-59 months aged were fed Red capsules.
 In the NCC area, 24,167 children of 6-11 months were fed Blue capsules through 340 centres while Red capsules were fed to 1, 9,815 children of 12-59 months.
RANGAMATI: A total of 85,860 children aged from 6 to 59 months were fed Vitamin-A capsules in the district.
The capsule feeding was inaugurated in Saapchhari Community Clinic by Sobir Kumar Chakma, health affairs convenor of Ramgamati Zilla Parishad.
The opening function was attended, among others, by CS Dr Nuen Kisha, Senior Health Education Officer of the Health Department Khokan Chakma, and other officials of the department.
In 10 upazilas of the district, 10,537 children of 6-11 months were fed Blue capsules while 75,323 children of 12-59 months were fed Red capsules.
