CHATTOGRAM, June 1: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three robbers along with a fugitive accused in 19 cases in separate operations in different areas of Chittagong city on Friday night.
The arrested are - Mohsin alias Moisya (35) of Sitakunda police station area, Anikul Islam Anik (33) of Halishahar police station area and Md Arif alias Arif Moinuddin (40) of Banshkhali police station area.
According to RAB, Md Mohsin was arrested on the basis of confidential information at 12 midnight on Friday from Sagarika Pathanpara area of Pahartali police station. Nineteen cases were filed against him with Sitakunda police station including murder, weapons and attempt to murder.
On the other hand, an accused named Anikul Islam Anik was arrested from Halishahar Dhopapara area of the city at 1.30 am. There are 7 cases of theft and robbery against him in Halishahar and Pahartali police stations.
Besides, one more accused named Md Arif was arrested during a raid in Halishahar waterworks area at 2 am. Jatrabari in Dhaka and Kotwali police station in Chittagong have 3 cases against him under the Arms Act.
Chattogram RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Nurul Absar said that the arrested accused have been handed over to Sitakunda, Banshkhali and Halishahar Police Stations.
