Lineman electrocuted in Netrakona

A lineman died from electrocution at Purbadhala upazila in Netrakona district on Sunday afternoon. 

The incident happened in Gopinathkhila area under Hugla union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Manik Sikdar, 35, son of Hazi Abul Kashem, a resident of Sollisa Bazar area of Netrokona. He was a lineman of Hugla complain centre under Purbadhala zonal office. 

Golam Mortoza, DGM Purbadhala zonal office, said Manik came in contact with a live electric wire while he was working a bidyut line in the area, leaving him critically injured.  
He was rescued and rushed him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where on duty doctors referred him to Dhaka for better treatment as his condition was deteriorated. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka. 

I haven't get any information yet in this regard, said Rashidul Islam, officer in-charge of Purbadhala Police Station.
