Minor child drowns in Pirojpur

A minor child drowned in a canal at Kaukhali upazila of Pirojpur district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was Md Rashed Khan, 4, son of Md Sohag Khan, a resident of Languli village under the upazila.
According to the family members, Rashed was playing on the bank of the canal before the incident happened.

"He might have been slipped into the canal while playing," they said.

After sensing his absence, the family members started looking for him and found his body was floating in the river.

Rashed was rescued and taken to Kaukhali Upazila Health Complex where the physicians declared him dead.
