Anar Murder: Celesty gives confessional statement

Celesty Rahman, accused of a case filed following the murder of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata on May 13, gave confessional statements to a Dhaka court on Monday.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain recorded her confessional statements. Assistant Commissioner, Mahfujur Rahman of Detective Branch (DB) of police, also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced Celesty Rahman with a prayer to record confessional statement in the case. Later the court sent her to jail.
On Monday another Dhaka court issued an arrest warrant against M Siam Hossain, in MP Anar abduction case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque passed the order after the IO of the case, submitted a prayer in this regard Siam, who is absconding in Nepal, is a resident of Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district.  

Celesty Rahman in her statement said that she was present   at Sanjeeva Gardens at New Town in Kolkata.  She was given responsibility to receive MP Anar, said a police source.

As part of their plan, the Shimul Bhuiyan, Celesty Rahman went to the flat at the Sanjeeva Gardens at New town on April 30. US citizen Shahin gave responsibility to Shimul Bhuiyan, Celesty Rahman of killing MP Anar and he returned to Bangladesh on May 10. Later the accused, in the name of business talks, brought MP Anar to the flat.         
As part of the killing mission, the accused Celesty got the responsibility to receive MP Anar at Sanjeeva Gardens at New Town in Kolkata.

Earlier on May 24, another Dhaka Court placed three accused on eight-day remand in first phase in the sensational murder case.

In the application, the IO said that Siam was earlier arrested in Nepal in connection with the case. If arrest warrant is issued against him, it will be easy to brought Siam back to Bangladesh. The magistrate on Monday also ordered the police authorities to send a copy of the arrest warrant to Nepal police through interpol.

Siam, from Kutuba village in Bholas Borhanuddin upazila, went to India via Nepal and returned to the Himalayan country after killing the lawmaker at a Kolkata flat.

He was also responsible for disposing of the body parts, police said.

Meanwhile, a special team of West Bengal CID investigating the murder case filed in Kolkata went to Nepal following Siams arrest. Anar  went to Kolkata on May 12 and stayed at his friend Gopal Biswass house for a night. He went out the following day saying that he would visit a doctor. Gopal later received texts from Anars mobile phone saying that he was going to Delhi and that he did not need to call him.

On May 22, India and Bangladesh police confirmed that the lawmaker was murdered.

According to the case statement filed by Dorin, daughter of Anar, the MP left his official residence at Manik Mia Avenue for his village home in Jhenaidah on May 9.

She last spoke with him around 4:45am on May 11 over phone, which was found switched off later on.

Investigator said Anar was killed on May 13 in Kolkata. The killers later dismembered the body and mutilated it in such a way that it would be tough to identify it.

On the other hand another Dhaka court ordered concerned authorities to give details the bank transaction of Md Aktaruzzaman, the main accused in Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim murder, and nine others.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Juglul Hossain gave the order on Monday following a prayer submitted by the IO of case.

The nine others are Shimul Bhuiyan aka Amanullah, Tanvir Bhuiyan, Celesty Rahman, Siam Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Foisal Ali, Chelsea Cherry, Taj Mohammad Khan and Jamal Hossain.

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit will provide the transaction information to the detective agency investigating the case.
