Hajj of 572 pilgrims has become uncertain due to negligence of three Hajj agencies.
Out of 85,257 registered pilgrims of Bangladesh, 64,495 flew to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj in 28 days till Wednesday, according to the Ashkona Hajj Camp and Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB). The pilgrims were flown by 166 Hajj flights.
Meanwhile, 10 Bangladeshi pilgrims died during the period due old age and other complications. Some of the Hajj agencies have not yet submitted their pay orders to the authorities concerned to confirming air tickets of the pilgrims registered with these agencies.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Religious Affairs asked North Bengal Hajj Travels International of Rangpur, Grand Shikder Air Travels and Mazid Travels International to explain their negligence.
According to the show cause notice, due to negligence of these agencies, pilgrimage of around 572 pilgrims became uncertain. They were asked to explain their conduct by today.
