Rafiqul elected chairman of Sarishabari upazila

Mohammad Rafiqul Islam has been elected chairman of Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur unofficially.

According to the election office sources, in the fourth phase of sixth upazila parishad polls, Rafiqul Islam (pineapple symbol) got 42,213 votes, while his only competitor Md Taleb Uddin (inkpot-pen) got 19,147 votes.
Besides in the election Al Amin secured 32,701 votes and elected Vice-chairman. His nearest rival candidate Md Golam-Mostafa bagged 28,655 votes.

On the other hand Mst Mahmuda Khatun elected Woman Vice-chairman got 41,543
votes. Her only contestant Mst Zeli Aktar got 19,603 votes.

Earlier on Wednesday, the fourth phase of the sixth upazila parishad elections in 60 upazilas across the country were held.
