Shantiganj voters elect Obhi as chairman

In Sunamganj's Shantiganj, Upazila Awami League senior vice-president Sadat Mannan Obhi has been elected as the chairman in the upazila parishad election. He got 40,987 votes with pineapple symbol.

His closest rival Sadar Upazila Awami League president Abul Kalam got 19,255 votes.
Musharraf Hossain Zakir was elected as vice chairman by getting 34,003 votes with the mic symbol. His closest rival Ruknuzzaman Rukon got 20,069 votes.

Rafika Mahir was elected as the female vice-chairman by getting 23,400 votes with football symbol. Her nearest rival Najma Begum got 14,488 votes with butterfly symbol

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Sukanto Saha announced this result at Jhilmil Auditorium of Shantiganj Upazila on Wednesday night.
