Woman held with 8-kg hemp in Rajshahi

Police arrested an alleged female drug peddler along with eight kilograms of hemp from Munsipara area in Rajshahi city on Wednesday.

The arrested woman is Parul Begum, 42, hailed from Mandari village under Chauddagram Police Station in Cumilla.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) confirmed the news in a press release on Thursday morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kashiadanga Police Station conducted a raid Horgram Munsi Para area at around 7:00 pm and arrested Parul Begum. At that time, police recovered eight kilograms of hemp from her possession, it said.
Later, she was sent to jail through a court after filing a case against her under the Narcotics Control Act with the police station, it also said.
