Raid on suspected ‘militant hideout’ in Netrokona

Law enforcers have cordoned off a house suspected to be a militant hideout in Bhashapara village of Netrokona Sadar Upazila.



Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfar Rahman said that law-enforcing personnel have surrounded the house from all sides around 4pm on Saturday.

According to the police, the house belongs to one named Abdul Mannan. The militants were operating from rented houses in a secluded area of the village.

Police said a foreign-made pistol, 17 rounds of ammunition and other incriminating materials were recovered from the site of the encounter.
