Woman killed by lightning strike in Thakurgaon

A woman died after being struck by lightning at Pirganj upazila in Thakugaon district on Friday evening. 

The deceased was identified as Lipi Aktar, 36, wife of Firoz Zaman, a resident of the area. 

Eyewitnesses said a Lipi Aktar was struck by lightning while she went to bring her clothes amid storms and rain, leaving her critically injured.   

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy, said Khairul Alam  Don, officer-in-charge of Pirganj Police Station.
The body was handed over to deceased's family after completing autopsy on Saturday afternoon, the police official added.
