Teenager crushed under train in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, June 9: A teenage boy was crushed under a train in Kaliganj Upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
The accident took place in Uttar Gopal Roy Village under Kakina Union of the upazila at around 3 pm.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Kaiyum, 15, son of Abdul Qader of the area.
According to locals, Kaiyum fell under the Burimari-bound train from Lalmonirhat, when he tried to save a calf from the accident. He died on the spot after being crushed under the train.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station Imtiaz Kabir said they informed Lalmonirhat Government Railway Police about the incident and they will take the legal actions.
