PANCHAGARH, June 9: A workshop on Smoking and Tobacco Use Control Act was held in the district on Sunday.
The workshop was arranged in the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office conference room, with DC in the chair. As the Director of Smoking and Tobacco Product Use Control Programme of the World Health Organization, Additional Secretary Dr Md Ziauddin discussed smoking and tobacco use laws and regulations through video-conferencing.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mustafa Zaman Chowdhuy highlighted the harmful aspects of smoking and tobacco products. Additional District Magistrate Seema Sharmin outlined the law and mobile court rules.
Among others, Additional Superintendent of Police SM Shafiqul Islam, Zilla Parishad Member Aktarun Nahar Saki, Freedom Fighter ATM Sarwar Hossain, Assistant Director of District Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Sheikh Sadi, Panchagarh Press Club President Sajjadur Rahman Sajjad, and General Secretary Jamil Chowdhury Dollar were present at the workshop.
