Dear Sir
As the sweltering summer heat intensifies and extreme weather events become more frequent, its crucial to shine a spotlight on a particularly vulnerable segment of our population: the elderly. Climate change isn just an abstract threat; its impacting the health and well-being of our seniors in profound ways.

Rising temperatures exacerbate existing health conditions among the elderly, such as heart and respiratory diseases, leading to increased hospitalizations and even fatalities. Heatwaves pose a significant risk, especially for those living alone or without access to air conditioning. Furthermore, extreme weather events like hurricanes and floods can disrupt essential services, leaving seniors stranded without medical assistance or necessary supplies.
Beyond physical health, climate change also takes a toll on mental well-being. Elderly individuals may experience heightened anxiety and stress due to uncertainty about future weather patterns and the safety of their homes.

Its imperative that we prioritize policies to protect our elderly citizens from the impacts of climate change. This includes investing in resilient infrastructure, ensuring access to cooling centers during heatwaves, and providing support for community-based care programs.

Inaction is not an option. Lets stand together to safeguard the health and dignity of our seniors in the face of this urgent global challenge.
