West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have recovered some bones from Bagjola canal near Krishwnamati Bridge area during a search with accused Siam. Initially, those appear to be human bones.

Kolkata police started the search operation with Siam around 8:00am. Earlier, they conducted several operations but failed to recover anything.   On Sunday they recovered the bones within 30 hours of operation.
Siam Hossain, one of the suspects in the murder of Jhenaidah MP Anwarul Azim Anar, has led police to ones found in the Bagjola canal in West Bengal, according to Indian media reports.

West Bengal media outlets published news and pictures of the search on Sunday. Some publications even included photos of the bones found.

However, the Criminal Investigation Department - the agency in charge of investigating Anars murder - has not made an official announcement of the bones being recovered.

A DMG team of the Navy and the Kolkata police personnel also accompanied the CID. First, they searched the canal with divers. Later, several bones were recovered from a bush.

Based on information provided by Indian police, detective police in Bangladesh arrested three suspects. They were also taken into remand for interrogation.

The three are Amanulla Sayeed alias Shimul Bhuiyan alias Shihab aka Fazl Mohammad Bhuiyan, 56, Tanvir Bhuiyan, 30, and Celesty Rahman, 22.

Detective police also arrested another individual from Jashore in connection with the murder.

The detainee, Saiful Alam Molla Member, is an associate of Shimul Bhuiyan, leader of the extremist outfit Purbo Banglar Communist Party, who has been arrested on murder charges.

Those samples were sent to the central forensic lab for a DNA test. This test requires a sample from the blood relatives of the victim. Mumtarin Ferdoush Dorin, the daughter of MP Anar, is supposed to go to Kolkata to take part in DNA tests to determine whether the flesh belongs to her father.

The Indian foreign ministry said it would provide full support to Bangladesh for investigation of Anars killing.

On Saturday, Barasat court placed Siam, one of the prime suspects in lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar murder, on a 14-day remand. Siam was brought to Kolkata after he was arrested in Nepal.

From Sunday morning, Kolkata Polices Disaster Management Group and Indian army started the search operation with accused Siam at Bhangor under south 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. They first started the search at the place indicated by Siam.

Siam claimed that the recovered bones are the bones of MP Anar.  Those will be sent to the forensic for proper examination, CID said.

West Bengal police earlier recovered around four kilograms pieces of flesh from the septic tank of the flat at Sanjeeva Gardens in New Town of Kolkata.

Aktaruzzaman Shaheen, the mastermind of the murder and was a long-term business partner of MP Anar, is still absconding and believed to be in the US.
