Shoriful Islam, the left-arm pacer who sustained an injury to his bowling hand during the pre-World Cup warm-up match against India, has resumed bowling. The injury, which required six stitches, prevented him from playing in the first T20 World Cup match.

However, ahead of Bangladesh's second World Cup match against South Africa in New York, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha provided positive news: Shoriful has started bowling again and is being considered for selection.
This doesn't guarantee his inclusion in the playing XI for the South Africa match, but it's a significant step forward.

"Shoriful is bowling today, and he's doing a kind of test today," Hathurusingha said. "He has to go and feel it out a bit. He's okay to bowl and is bowling without any strapping today. I'm hoping that after today, he'll be available for selection."

Although Shoriful attended the practice session before the Sri Lanka match, he was unable to participate in net bowling.

The Bangladesh team is currently in New York to prepare for their match against South Africa. They held a practice session on Sunday (New York time) at Cantiague Park, a short drive from the match venue.

Bangladesh secured a victory in their first T20 World Cup match against their Asian rivals, Sri Lanka. This win served as a significant confidence boost for the Tigers, as Captain Najmul Hossain emphasized after the match.
