Milon Mahmud Bachchu and Emdadul Haque Monir have been elected as chairmen of Rajapur and Kathalia upazilas respectively in Jamalpur district.
Milon Mahmud Bachchu got 21,050 votes with motorcycle symbol while his nearest rival Afroza Aktar got 16,820 votes with Inkpot-pen symbol.
In the upazila election, Abdullah Al-Hasan was elected as vice-chairman and Nasrin Aktar was elected as female vice-chairman.
In Kathalia upazila, Emdadul Haque Monir has been elected as the chairman securing 20,375 votes. Monir's nearest candidate Golam Kibria Sikdar got 12,681 votes.
Meanwhile, Abdul Jalil Miazi and Sahida Aktar were elected as vice-chairman and Mohila vice-chairman respectively in Kathalia upazila election.
Additional deputy commissioner of Jhalakathi and returning officer Md Ruhul Amin confirmed the news on Sunday night.
