BB takes steps for easy financial transactions in Eid holidays

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has taken adequate steps to ensure that people to have smooth uninterrupted financial transaction during Eid-ul-Azha holiday. A circular in this regard was issued on Tuesday.

The central banks payment system department instructs all scheduled commercial banks, mobile financial service providers, payment service providers, and payment system operators to prioritize uninterrupted services to customers.

The focus lies on guaranteeing accessibility across various digital payment channels, including ATMs, POS terminals, QR codes, internet banking, online payment gateways, and mobile financial services.

This proactive approach aims to address potential cash flow and facilitate convenient access to funds throughout the festive period.

The circular instructs that banks and financial institutions will prioritize maintaining sufficient cash reserves in ATMs, ensuring the smooth operation of digital payment channels, and providing adequate technical support throughout the holidays.

This initiative by Bangladesh Bank is to foster a robust financial system that caters to the needs of citizens, particularly during peak periods like Eid, the circular said.
