Suspected KNF member found dead in Bandarban

Police recovered the body of a suspected member of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) from a remote hilly area of Jorbharangpara Ruma Upazila in Bandarban on Wednesday.

The deceased was Lal Thian Bom, 30, a resident of Jorbharangpara in the upazila.

Later, the body was sent to the Bandarban Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Locals said that joint forces had a gunfight with armed terrorists and KNF members on Monday night. The KNF member might have been killed in the gunfight, they suspected.

Meanwhile, an official of Bandarban police said that members of the joint forces handed over a body from Ruma upazila to the police.
