132kg venison seized from Sundarban

KHULNA, June 12: The Department of Forest (DoF) seized 132 kilogram (KG) of venison from Chalki Khal (Canal) area under Shakbaria Forest Outpost of the Sundarban in the district early Tuesday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shakbaria Forest Outpost said, on secret information, a joint forest team of Shakbaria and Kashiabad forest outposts conducted an operation at 3:30am in the Chalki Khal area in the Sundarban.
The deer poacher fled away sensing the presence of the forest team, OC said.

Along with 132kg venison, the boat was seized from the bank of the Chalki Khal, he added.
