Delays mar first day of Eid train trips at Kamalapur Station

Home-bound passenger pressure was observed at the Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Wednesday. The first day of Eid trips with tickets bought in advance, was uncomfortable on Wednesday for passengers as trains failed to arrive at the station on time and departed late.

Passengers had to endure long wait at the station in intense heat. Many expressed their frustration, while others accepted the delays as a common occurrence during Eid travel.
Passengers now have to cross two check-posts before entering platforms while those without a valid ticket are being sent home as additional security measures seek to avoid chaos at the railway station and prevent a schedule breakdown.

The first train of the day from Kamalapur Railway Station, the Rajshahi-bound Dhumketu Express, was scheduled to depart at 6:00am but actually left the station at 7:20am.
