No security guard: Tk 29.40 lakh looted from IFIC Bank in Bogura

BOGURA, June 13: Miscreants looted Tk 29.40 lakh from the vault of the IFIC Banks Matidhali branch in Sadar upazila, Bogura district on Thursday.

 Saihan Oliullah, in-charge of Bogura Sadar Police Station, reported that the bank officials had secured the money in the vault on Wednesday evening before leaving the premises.

 On Thursday morning, bank officials discovered the vault open and Tk 29,40,618 missing upon entering the bank.

 Notably, there was no security guard on duty at the bank, which is located on the top floor of a two-storey building, according to the Officer-in-Charge (OC).

 Police visited the scene after receiving information about the theft. However, no formal complaint has been lodged yet regarding the incident, the OC added.    —UNB
