20-km tailback on highways of Savar's Ashulia

A 20-kilometre tailback has been created on the two highways of Savar's Ashulia due to mud rush of home-bound passengers ahead of Ei-ul-Azha.

The 3-kilometre tailback was seen from Nabinagar to Noyarhat on the Dhaka-Aricha highway on Friday night and 17-kilometre traffic from Nabinagar to Kabirpur on the Nabinagar-Chandra highway.

Passenger Sabuj of Itihash Paribahan said, "I got down the bus around 8:30pm from Savar's Hemayetpur. But it tokk one and a half hour to reach Kabirpur from Baipale."

The passengers are facing immense sufferings amid this hotty weather as the vehicles are heading slowly.
