Two killed in Munshiganj road accident

Two youths were killed in a road accident at Gajaria upazila in Munshiganj district on Saturday afternoon.

The accident took place around 4.30pm on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Baluakandi area of the upazila.

The deceased Jamiul Islam, 19, son of Shafiqul Islam, and Firoz Mia, 25, son of Imran Hossain, hailed from Lakshankhola village under Meghna upazila of Cumilla district.

Bhaberchar Highway Police Station in-charge Humayun Kabir said the duo was heading towards a local resturant from their village, riding on a motorcycle. On the way, a speeding unknown vehicle hit their bike from behind, leaving them both dead on the spot.

On information, police have recovered the bodies from the spot. The bodies will be handed over to the family after completion of legal procedures, added the OC.
