Two people were killed and ten injured in a three-way collision involving bus, private car, and battery-operated easy-bike at Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:30 in Charprosannadi area under the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Rajib Sheikh, 22, and Saheb Ali, 50, both from Molladi village of the upazila.

Two children, Jannati, 10, and Sabiha, 1, were among those critically injured and have been hospitalized.

According to police and local sources, the accident occurred when a Barisal-bound private car from Muksudpur and a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Barisal attempted to give way to an e-bike, resulting in a three-way collision. The easybike passengers bore the brunt of the impact, leading to the fatalities.
Bhanga Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Abu Sayeed Md. Khairul Anam confirmed the incident and said that the private car and the easybike were severely damaged, while the bus veered off the road into a ditch.

The injured have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Rajair Hospital in Madaripur, he said, adding that authorities fear the death toll may rise from the accident.
