Schools to open Jun 26 as govt cuts vacation

The summer vacation has been reduced in junior-secondary and secondary level educational institutions under the Ministry of Education. The vacation was supposed to last till July 2. Now the new decision is that educational institutions will be opened from Wednesday (June 26). But apart from Friday, Saturday will also be a weekend holiday.

The Ministry of Education took this decision on Thursday. The information and public relations officer of the Ministry of Education Mohammad Abul Khair confirmed this information.
According to curriculum, the holy Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation started on June 13 this year, which was supposed to last till July 2. It was already hinted that the summer vacation may be reduced by a week.

The Ministry of Education's argument for shortening the holidays is that teaching working days have decreased throughout the year. Apart from this, due to the resumption of Saturday closure, working days will be reduced. So the summer vacation has been shortened.
