Boy kills self at Kulaura

KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR, June 20: A teenage boy reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Kulaura Upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Oliur Rahman Kawsar, 18, son of Ataur Rahman, a resident of Bhuigaon Village under Hazipur Union in the upazila.

Quoting locals, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kulaura Police Station Bidyut Purkayastha said mentally-imbalanced Kawsar demanded some money from her mother. As the mother did not give him the money, he hanged himself from the ceiling of his room in the house at noon out of huff with his mother.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the SI added.
